Columba Falls 1950s Toilet Block Demolished

Readers of my blog may remember my post "Modernism down the toilet - Columba Falls Toilet Block". Sadly this interesting little modernist toilet block has been demolished, it looks as if a new block is being built in its place. It's times like these that documenting such buildings through the photograph allows such places to be captured and in our memories forever.

  1. Oh what a shame! I love the way they made the Ladies sign using stones.
You know what other little buildings are really special Thomas? Child Health Clinics (well they are here in Perth anyway...)

  2. it wasn't a great place to wee (I remember there being moss growing in the urinal & lots of spiders), but it added a little character to an otherwise ordinary car park.
