The 1960s designed North Launceston Bowls Club, in the suburb of Mowbray portrays many traits of Post War design craftsmanship and style. The brickwork toning in 20th century bricks is so stylish, so many shades.

I am also fascinated by bricks. Is there a particular term for the brickwork with the gaps between the bricks, as in the fourth photo?
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear that you also take an interest in brick detailing. I am not sure if there is a name for this kind of detailing, perhaps an architect/builder from the period had a name for such detailing? It's really an entire area that needs more exploration, stay tuned for future blog posts, as I have many more fascinating examples.
